Week 3


As you can see there was no blog post last week as I was busy with things outside University and I did not have enough time to make progress in the project therefore there was nothing to post about.

Moving on to this week my main focus was on choosing which of the 5 out of the various features I would like to explore and create in this projects, for this my approach was to look at various different videos out there on each of the technical and design challenges we were provided and see how different people approached each challenge and different ways they made it unique and use that knowledge to decide which 5 I am going to create and hopefully how I could make it a little unique from others.

Before I talk about any other challenges I want to do, there are 2 that I wanted to do from the first time we were given the different challenges and these are the interactive door system and an interactive animated button or lever interaction system. For this my Idea is to incorporate the both of them together so my plan is to have a door that is initially locked and the was way to unlock it would be by pulling a lever, after it is pulled the door is "unlocked" but the player will have to still interact with the door to push it open although if this does prove to be too challenging for me, I would just default to a standard animation of the door opening which will make me lose some instructiveness but could save me a lot of time which could be used for the other challenges but first I would like to try and make it interactive.

Another task that peaked my interest was the wrist menu and the ladder mechanic, the menu is just showing most programs should nearly always include as it proves to be quite annoying to relaunch the program every time you would like to reset something and as for the ladder it seemed to be quite a fun and interactive task to play with.
